2012 will be filled with superhero films. 2012 looks like being the year of the superhero as three massive blockbusters prepare to be unleashed on multiplexes around the world.

1. The Avengers:
Captain America, the Hulk, Iron Man and Thor unite for what could be the biggest superhero movie of 2012, if not the biggest of all time. Set for release May 2012 in both 2D and 3D, the plot of The Avengers remains unknown but with so many superheroes in a single movie, a smash hit is all but guaranteed.
