World Philosophy day

World Philosophy Day is celebrated every 3rd Thursday of November. It was first celebrated on 21 November 2002. It was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2005, with the goal to underline the enduring value of philosophy for the development of human thought, for each culture and for each individual.

As underlined in the establishment ceremony, “philosophy is a discipline that encourages critical and independent thought and is capable of working towards a better understanding of the world and promoting tolerance and peace”.

Environment day 2012

The theme for the World Environment Day 2012 is "Green Economy". By Green Economy, we mean the process where public and private investments are made in new technologies and infrastructure to create a more environment friendly world.
